The San Francisco 49ers need to improve in the red zone in 2018, here we look at five receivers in the NFL Draft that could help them do that.

With Jimmy Garoppolo under center, the San Francisco 49ers offense improved substantially. Having floundered with Brian Hoyer and C.J. Beathard at quarterback, the 49ers offense was transformed once Garoppolo entered the fray and went from one of the worst in the NFL to one that finished 12th in the league in yards per game.

What made this turnaround all the more impressive was that it took place despite the Niners’ supposed lack of skill position talent.

Pierre Garcon was already on injured reserve when Garoppolo took the helm, leaving Marquise Goodwin as the starting receiver ahead of veterans Aldrick Robinson and Louis Murphy and rookies Trent Taylor and Kendrick Bourne. And, while Goodwin, Taylor and to a lesser extent Bourne blossomed with Garoppolo at quarterback, it is widely accepted need improvements at receiver in the offseason.

Something the 49ers definitely need is a big-bodied target who can give Garoppolo a reliable target in the red zone. Just seven of Garoppolo’s 45 pass plays in the red zone went for a touchdown in 2017 and here we look at five big-bodied draft prospects who could help significantly improve this ratio.
