Denver Broncos: 5 Players to watch at 2018 Senior Bowl
By Bruce Matson
1. Alex Cappa, OT – Humboldt State
Alex Cappa is a name you might want to remember come draft day, because he will be one of the first players selected from a Division Two school in this year’s draft. The Broncos need to add talent to the offensive line. Last year, they utilized their first-round pick on offensive tackle, Garett Bolles, to be their starting left tackle. Outside or quarterback, the team’s biggest need is right tackle and Cappa can step in and eventually fill that spot for the Broncos.
At 6-5 and 299 pounds, Cappa has the size to compete at the NFL level. He has a nonstop motor and will finish every block he makes. At the Division Two level, he was a man amongst boys, pushing back and throwing pass rushers around at will. In the Senior Bowl practices, he has looked very good. He seems to be acclimating to the increase in competition at the Senior Bowl very well.
It’s hard to tell if he will have trouble developing to the speed of the NFL game. He will need to develop at a rapid rate in order to compete against some of the top pass rushers in the league. From what I’ve seen at the Senior Bowl, he’s more than capable of becoming a perennial starter for an NFL team.

Denver needs a right tackle and Cappa could be on the board in the middle rounds for the Broncos, making him a tremendous value for the team. If he develops, then the Broncos could have the steal in the draft. I know Denver isn’t coaching his team in the Senior Bowl, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have their eye on him.
