Dallas Cowboys: 2017 Rookie Review
More Rookies
• Cooper Rush, QB — Being that he was the top backup for the Cowboys this past season, he played his way to that role during training camp and stayed there all season behind Dak Prescott. Rush had very little playing time in 2017, having one completion on three attempts. Rush played his role on the Cowboys well, and as the top backup, the Cowboys must have confidence in him moving forward.
• Tre’von Johnson, LB — Johnson was on the practice squad for most of the season, added to that spot on Sept. 27 and then activated to the main roster in Dec. 27. He began the season with the Arizona Cardinals.
• Lance Lenoir, WR — Lenoir was on the roster for one game for the Cowboys in 2017, the Week 17 6-0 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He didn’t have any stats in the game. This past season he was signed on June 13, then added to the practice squad by the Cowboys in early September. He was activated from the practice squad on Dec. 29.
• Noah Brown, WR — Drafted in the seventh round, the former Ohio State wide receiver played in 13 games and even gained a start once. He was targeted nine times this past season, gaining four receptions for 33 yards. Brown caught 44.4 percent of the passes sent his way his rookie season.
• Blake Jarwin, TE — Jarwin played in one game for the Cowboys, and being a tight end for the Cowboys, playing time will be sparse for the foreseeable future as long as Jason Witten continues to be on the roster. Jarwin played his lone game this season against the Atlanta Falcons.
