What to expect from the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have spent all season surprising people. They weren’t even expected to win the NFC East, and now they’re one win away from the franchise’s first Super Bowl. It’s safe to say there’s no reason to count them out in this one.

The obvious concern here is that it’s Foles (not Wentz) under center. The Eagles’ backup quarterback looked lost towards the end of the regular season, but is playing with superb confidence and efficiency during the playoffs. Just look at his meticulous, surgeon-esque dissection of the Minnesota Vikings’ secondary during the Divisional Round.

Honestly, I don’t see the Philadelphia offense struggling to move the ball. It won’t be a complete bulldozing, but Foles should make plenty of plays while Ajayi consistently moves the ball on the ground. Points will be scored early and often. The problem is keeping Brady and Co. from doing the same.

That’s why, as was the case with New England, it’s going to be up to the Eagles’ defense to secure the victory. Can they keep Brady under wraps, or will the GOAT put on his usual Super Bowl performance? It’s anyone’s guess, but history would suggest Philadelphia will struggle to slow him down.

If the Eagles can create a couple of turnovers and make Brady uncomfortable in the pocket, they should have enough juice to secure the win. They’ve done it all season long, so I would guess they’ll be ready for the Big Game.
