The 2018 NFL Draft might be the most important in decades for the Chicago Bears. With a new coaching staff, improvement on the field is a must.

Now that the season is just about over, we look to offseason moves. The Chicago Bears already did their job in hiring a new coaching staff. John Fox is out and Matt Nagy is in. No more talk about dinosaurs and old-school offenses. The Bears now have a modern coaching staff. It’s time to give that staff a modern team. One way to do that is through the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Bears have a lot of holes, but hopefully, some of those are filled through free agency. The draft puts the finishing touches on the roster.

One of the biggest priorities for the Bears is the offense. It languished near the bottom in most of the categories and that must change. General manager Ryan Pace and the Bears front office put their hopes and jobs on the shoulders of Mitch Trubisky. The team now has to give him the weapons he lacked last season.

On the other hand, even though the Bears have a good defense in place, they still have room for improvement. Pace cannot afford to forget that side of the ball. The hope is that he does that by balancing the signings at free agency and the draft picks.

This is one of the most important drafts over the past several decades. With the coaching changes in place, the play on the field must improve. No more three, four, or five-win games. There must be big gains in 2018.
