The Green Bay Packers are a team that has a ton of weapons to get the ball to. They have stars like Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams at wide receiver, and there’s times those guys cause so much chaos that some unheralded players find an opening.

The team had hoped tight end Martellus Bennett could come in last season and find such openings, but that was a huge mistake. Anyone who has followed Bennett’s career knew it was a divorce waiting to happen. Bennett is a loud mouth that has more words than actual play, and is arguably the poster boy for not reaching one’s potential.

He wound up being cut after needing surgery and saying the team was mishandling his health, then miraculously was fine once he got back to the Patriots — the team he won a title with a year ago. Of course, the shoulder injury popped up again, but that’s no longer Green Bay’s issue.

Now they could look for someone else to fill the role he left open and an underrated option is Seattle Seahawks tight end Luke Willson. While most eyes are on his counterpart, Jimmy Graham, Willson is also a free agent and could fit better with the Pack.

While he was only mildly used as a pass catcher, Willson was a solid run blocker for the Seahawks, but still caught four touchdown passes. He’s the kind of guy that can lull defenses to sleep by blocking all game, then getting free on a pass route and making the most out of it. He also won’t cause problems if the ball doesn’t come his way, or try to throw team doctors under the bus like Marty B.
