Hopefully for the Packers, they never again have to worry about filling a void left by Aaron Rodgers — or at least not until he retires. In 2017, we all saw just how bad things got without him and despite those trying to pull for Brett Hundley, he was just not a good quarterback for them.

In 2018, they need someone better behind Rodgers. That’s why it makes sense to target an experienced vet like Ryan Fitzpatrick. The bearded wonder has been all over the league and has done well enough to earn a couple large pay days by teams who felt he was a legitimate starter.

Of course, those teams were wrong, but the fact is, in small doses he’s not bad. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Fitzpatrick had three starts and went 2-1. It was a much worse roster than the Packers, and Hundley limped to a 3-6 record and needed overtime to upend the 0-16 Cleveland Browns.

Fitzpatrick went for 1,103 yards in his six total games and had seven touchdowns to just three picks. Not to pile more on Hundley, but he had nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 11 games — nine starts. They sure could have used the veteran last year instead of the youngster that let them down.
