1. Malcolm Butler, CB, New England Patriots

Like David Irving mentioned before him, this player isn’t really underrated, but instead is just one that hasn’t gotten the same talk about being a free agent as his play warrants. Cornerback Malcolm Butler, the former Super Bowl MVP who famously picked off Russell Wilson from a yard-out, is set to hit the open market this offseason. While he won’t be cheap, he would make a lot of sense for a team like Green Bay that struggles on defense.

Butler has developed into a real star at the position and the Pats are probably unlikely to pay him. They already were rumored to be trying to deal him this past offseason, probably in hopes of getting something better than a compensatory pick for his services.

The Packers have some young talent in the secondary, but their coverage still leaves a lot to be desired. Butler would immediately be their top coverage guy and through four seasons he’s proven to be able to force turnovers.

He has eight career picks and four forced fumbles — all over the past three seasons as he wasn’t a regular contributor in his rookie season. His presence could greatly increase the pass defense in Green Bay, which would in turn help them win more games.
