RB: Josh Adams (Draft pick)

Bilal Powell has proven that he’s not a feature back, even in the two-back system of the NFL of 2018. He’s a good complementary back, but, unfortunately, he’s not good enough to be a starter. Additionally, Elijah McGuire has done enough to warrant more playing time, just not a starter’s snaps. So the Jets will draft Notre Dame running back Josh Adams with the intent of using him as their starter, but dividing the carries between the three to keep them all fresh.

Adams is a power back with breakaway speed. He doesn’t have shot-out-of-a-cannon speed, where he’s fast right out of the gate, because he likes to lower the boom and break tackles. He’s more like a locomotive. He builds it up and, once he gets to the second and third levels ,he can wave goodbye to the defenders.

He had seven runs of 60 yards or more in 2017. Additionally, Adams averaged 96 yards after contact per game and 5.6 yards per carry after contact. So, he can be the bull the Jets need out of the backfield. Also, if the Jets have McGuire and the next guy in these predictions to catch passes out the backfield if needed.
