Kirk Cousins should be looking for the team that will take him to the next level he doesn’t need to look any further than the Denver Broncos.

Another Andy Reid quarterback was traded to the Washington Redskins this past week. In 2010, it was Donovan McNabb; and eight years later, it’s Alex Smith who’s coming off one his best seasons as an NFL starter. Upon his arrival to Washington, the 33-year old Smith will reportedly sign a four-year extension, which means Kirk Cousins will hit the free agent market.

This makes the five-year vet the hottest quarterback in free agency. And despite what some may think of his play, he will be looked as a franchise quarterback and the Denver Broncos should be one of those teams.

There are a couple of teams who could really use the services of a quarterback that through for over 4,000 yards in three years with a career completion rate of 65.5 percent. With so many teams needing a quarterback and Cousins being more than a serviceable option, he needs to pick the right franchise to take him to the next level.

One of those teams are the Broncos, who are a couple of draft picks away from making Cousins more than a stat stuffer. With the fifth-overall pick and the great positioning the Broncos have throughout the draft, Elway’s team can go from worst to first in 2018 with the right draft.

Let’s take a look at what Cousins would mean and who they could target in the first three rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.
