Free Agent Target: Jarvis Landry

Signing Jarvis Landry would kill two birds with one stone for the Jets. Landry is the No. 1 target the Jets need, and he can fill the void left by the Anderson release.

Landry was 13 yards and one touchdown shy of his first 1,000-yard/10-touchdown season in the NFL this year. He also had his second career 100+ catch season along with being target over 130 times for the third straight season. In addition to this, Landry also was seventh in the NFL in yards after catch with 511, one of only 10 players to have at least 500 yards in that category.

In addition to being the No. 1 receiver, Landry can provide them with the kick returner they desperately need. He’s averaged nine yards per punt return and 27 yards per kickoff return in his career. Even though many teams don’t use their top receiver in the return game, it would be a good thing for the Jets to consider, given their current situation on special teams.

Their return game doesn’t help them flip the field when they need it to the most. Field position is a crucial part of the game, and the Jets couldn’t establish it at all in 2017. Landry can help them do that.
