Free Agent Target: Ziggy Ansah

Ansah had an incredible 2015 season, when he recorded 65 total pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. In 2016, he only recorded two sacks, and according to Mark Chichester of PFF:

"While injuries have played a major part in hindering his progression since, the fifth-year edge-rusher looked to be back to his best form down the stretch of the 2017 season."

This season, he finished strong with 19 total pressures in the final six games of the season. On the season he finished with 9.5 sacks, and he looks like he could be back in 2015 form after recovering from the injury.

He played 4-3 defensive end for the Detroit Lions. However, he has the size, speed, and athleticism Todd Bowles is looking for in 3-4 rush outside linebacker. The Jets had trouble setting the edge in 2017. Ansah will bring help to the Jets in that department immediately. It may push Jordan Jenkins to the bench, though, especially if Lorenzo Mauldin can return and play well.
