Regardless of what the media wants to tell you, even though the NFL has become a quarterback-driven league, you still need to have success in the ground game in order to be successful. Both New England and Philadelphia were in the top 10 in total rushing yards and were in the top 12 in yards per attempt and carries in 2017. New England was also in the top ten in most run blocking categories according to the website Football Outsiders, and that’s with Tom Brady at quarterback.

The last time the Jets had a big need for in the NFL Draft, they had two first round picks. They used both of them on linemen. In the 2006 NFL Draft, they selected D’Brickashaw Ferguson No. 4 overall and Nick Mangold No. 29 overall. So picking linemen in the draft can become crucial pieces to the team.

The Jets need to go back to ground and pound to be successful, and that starts up front on the interior. Wynn will move from left tackle, where he played at Georgia, to guard in the NFL, due to his size. That said, he does have the strength and mentality to play inside. He has shown an ability to handle edge rushers. So, if the Jets want to use another guard on the inside and move him outside in Jumbo packages, they can.
