Some say that Pettis is a one trick pony, but boy it’s a great one trick. IN the NFL it’s not necessarily about being great at everything, but finding a niche and doing that well. The Patriots are amazing at finding players that fit a role and use them to the best at that role. Well, the Jets will do the same if they draft Dante Pettis.

Earlier on, I mentioned the Jets signing Jarvis Landry. Well according to Pro Football Focus, Landry is the NFL’s leading receiver from the slot since 2014.

That means one things for the Jets offense. They’d have a versatile receiver that poses a matchup nightmare. The combination of Landry in the slot and Pettis on the outside would create a pick-your-poison option for the defense. On top of that, Pettis gives the Jets another return man option if they don’t want to use Landry.

All in all, the additions of Pettis and Landy would provide the Jets offense with something thay haven’t had in a long time, a lot of options. The Jets could actually become a serious contender to dethrone the Patriots in the AFC East, especially given they were so close to beating them in their matchups in 2017.
