1. Baker Mayfield

If Baker Mayfield can barely handle being the top guy in Norman, OK, there’s no way he can handle being the top guy in New York City for its premier NFL team. Let’s start with the off the field issues of Mayfield.

It all started this year with trying to evade the police. He was drunk and tried to run away. He was charged with public intoxication, running from the police, and disorderly conduct. That’s just a kid being young and stupid, right?

Then there was his antics against Kansas, including crotch-grabbing and a multitude of profanity-laden trash talk.

The straw that broke the camel’s back is the incident at the Senior Bowl. Teams send scouts for interviews, and players should sit down with all the teams that request interviews, but Mayfield blew off an interview with the Bears. Even though the Bears probably aren’t going to draft him, it’s still not a good look.

On top of all of this, he’s too short to play in the NFL and his arm isn’t strong enough to handle playing in the cold of East Rutherford, NJ in the winter. The behavior is inexcusable, and he’s not a good fit for the Giants from a talent perspective, and the most avoidable prospect for them in the 2018 NFL Draft.
