1. Josh Allen

All of his supporters will make every excuse in the book. They’ll say his offensive line and receivers were terrible, and he didn’t have a running game. Many people have also said that the Senior Bowl practices prove what he’s capable of.

Many people are blinded by his physical attributes and look past his inaccuracy and inconsistency. They’re willing to blame everyone but him for his issues. People look at the strong arm and athletic ability for his size as reasons to look past his consistency and accuracy issues.

They said the same thing about the strong arm, size, and mobility of another prominent quarterback who came out of Washington State 20 years ago. There was even debate as to whether or not that quarterback should be the number one overall pick over the future memebr of the Pro Football Hall of Fame that would end up being selected No. 1.

Allen may not have the temperament of Ryan Leaf. That said, he does have the same skill set and physical attributes that made people fall in love with Leaf. They also have accuracy and consistency issues in common. So before you say the Jets need to draft Josh Allen, let’s take a lesson from the past and avoid the mistake.
