For the New York Jets, the 2018 NFL draft is a crucial stepping stone toward a Super Bowl title that the fans have crave since the 1968 season.

We just witnessed the Eagles and their fans line the streets of Philadelphia to celebrate their Super Bowl victory. If the New York Jets want to march down the canyon of heroes in NYC, they can’t fail in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Eagles didn’t build their team overnight. In fact, between free agency and the NFL Draft, they took from 2010-17 to acquire the 22 starters in Super Bowl LII. Jets fan will likely not be that patient, and will clamor for some heads to roll if it takes that long. However, a little more patience will be needed for this team to be built to get where they want to be.

There’s one key factor in deciding how the Jets should act in 2018. That’s this: Mike Maccagnan and Todd Bowles were both signed to two-year contract extensions. So, team building and patience is prudent, and not rushing things is important. Let’s remember that the Eagles got their franchise quarterback in the penultimate year of their building phase, and they got the backup quarterback who was an injury replacement this past year.

Let’s take a look at how the Jets will attack the 2018 NFL Draft.
