The New York Giants don’t have enough cap space to make a run at big-time free agents this offseason, so their future depends on the 2018 NFL Draft.

The New York Giants will have to start anew in 2018 with the NFL Draft. It’s time to start building the foundation of another run to a fifth Lombardi trophy and their ninth NFL world championship overall.

According to Spotrac, including the negative rollover and the estimated rookie pool for their draft picks, the Giants have a total of approximately $15.1 million in cap space. That’s definitely not enough space to do anything with. Even if they cut their two biggest headache contracts, Eli Manning and Brandon Marshall, it still only leaves them with $30.1 million in cap space. They still have to sign their own free agents too.

So, how do the Giants attack this draft? Frankly, they should keep Manning for at least one more year, and draft his heir apparent. It doesn’t have to be with the No. 2 overall pick, though. They have plenty of options there.

The could take a quarterback or offensive lineman. They could also shock everyone and trade down for pick accumulation. Do the Giants go quarterback? Let’s find out.
