New York Jets: 7 Top options in 2018 NFL Free Agency
1. Andrew Norwell, OG
It’s rare to talk about the impact of a guard in free agency. That said, the Jets offensive interior was so abysmal the Andrew Norwell’s presence would provide an instant upgrade. The Jets interior offensive linemen allowed 101 total pressures in 2017. According to Pro Football Focus Elite, the combined pass blocking efficiency of their guards was 94.9, and all three run blocking grades were awful.
Norwell, on the other hand, had a pass blocking efficiency of 98.3 in 2017. His run block grade of 10.3 is considered above average, and he’s the No. 3 ranked guard in the entire NFL by Pro Football Focus.
In his 564 snaps in pass blocking, he didn’t allow a hit or a hurry. Broncos guard Chris Kuper, Jets guard Brandon Moore, and Ravens guard Marshal Yanda are the only other three guards (since 2006) to have 500 or more pass block snaps and not allow a hit or hurry in a season.

Norwell is a must target for the Jets terrible offensive line. The running game and passing game were both terrible for the Jets as a result of their bad offensive line play. The signing of Norwell would provide the Jets with an immediate increase in offensive efficiency in 2018.
