New York Giants: 7-Round 2018 mock draft pre-Combine
Luke Falk’s numbers took a precipitous drop from 2016 to 2017. However, even though former Ravens head Brian Billick offered up a somewhat of a warning on Twitter, that was in terms of low completion percentages. According to Pro Football Focus Elite, 44 of the incompletions were a result of dropped passes (30), having to throw the ball away (9), and being hit as he threw (5), and he still completed 66.9 percent of his passes.
He had a passer rating under pressure of 82.7 which isn’t great, but passable given the talent around him. The only issue is the deep passing (20 or more yards in the air) numbers, passer rating of 89.0 and a 2-1 TD-INT ratio, not spectacular, but the combination of a year on the bench learning and having Odell Beckham Jr. to throw to might just be what the doctor ordered for him.
Some may say the hits he took a Washington State have taken a toll on him both physically and mentally. However, that can’t be decided now. It can, however, be decided after he’s drafted, when he actually gets in practice and games for the Giants. For now, he’s worth a look as the potential successor to Eli Manning, given all of the plusses.
