The Giants kicking game went largely unnoticed in a terrible year for them overall as a team. However, it was a terrible rookie year for Aldrick Rosas. His field goal percentage of was the lowest among kickers with 20 attempts or more. His touchback percentage was fifth lowest in the league, and his two kickoffs out of bound were tied for the most in the league with two others.

Eddy PIneiro, on the other hand, has a booming leg, and should be able to help this kicking game immediately. He was limited in the kicking game, due to Florida’s poor offense, but in his 18 field goal attempts he only missed one. HIs career numbers at Florida are stellar. He had a career field goal percentage of 88.3 percent with zero misses from 20-29 yards or 50 or more yards. He also had a career touchback percentage of 75 percent.

Since kickoffs emanate from the 35-yard line in the NFL, a touchback percentage of under 50 percent is unacceptable. Pineiro should not only give Ross a run for his money, but make the team easily over him. Pineiro would give the Giants kicking game an overall upgrade it greatly needs in 2018.
