Passing on Quenton Nelson in the first round was tough. He is the single best offensive guard prospect that has entered the league in recent memory. That being said, Edmunds is also fantastic and this offensive guard class is deep. In the second round of this mock draft, the Chicago Bears take advantage of that depth by selecting Isaiah Wynn.

Wynn was a four-year contributor and three-year full-time starter at the University of Georgia. He really took his game to the next level last season, starting all the Bulldogs’ games at left tackle and being named a second-team All-American.

An extremely smart and technically sound offensive lineman, there is a lot to like about Wynn’s game. He fires off the ball quickly, understands angles up front extremely well and has enough raw strength to handle players much bigger than him. He is a fantastic reach blocker, consistently getting to his spot to handle linebackers at the second level.

Wynn shows almost perfect technique in pass protection, never overreaching to expose himself against athletic rushers. The former Bulldog also always seems to be in the right spot against unique defensive schemes and twist plays. Simply put, it is extremely difficult to confuse him.

With great movement ability, Wynn plays more like an offensive tackle. However, at 6-2, 302 pounds, he does not have the size to plays on the outside at the next level. His arm length would be a particular issue for Wynn as an NFL offensive tackle. He may be able to sub as a tackle in an emergency, but he is undoubtedly an offensive guard prospect at the next level.

Wynn is a rock solid offensive lineman who would fit in well with the Bears. He would be able to come in and immediately handle starting left guard duties and would probably do so at a high level. Adding a consistent presence like Wynn at left guard would only help with the development of Mitch Trubisky and the offense as a whole.
