Both Kyle Fuller and Prince Amukamara are set to hit unrestricted free agency. The Chicago Bears will have interest in bringing both players back, but as things stand now, they have an obvious need at the cornerback position. I looked for opportunities to fill this need in the first two rounds, but the value was just never there.

Instead, the Bears snag Penn State’s Christian Campbell with their second fourth round selection. Campbell is a tall and long cornerback who shows strong press coverage skills. He attacks the ball in the air well and can typically handle big and athletic wide receivers. That being said, Campbell can struggle against smaller and quicker receivers, showing less than ideal instincts. He does however, show nice closing speed.

Campbell is not a perfect prospect but he fits the Bears defense well and would fill a major position of need. He would be a strong value selection for the Bears in the middle of the fourth round.

Adding just one wide receiver prospect in the draft is simply not enough. The Bears need to attack the position with multiple additions in both free agency and the draft. The Bears must give Trubisky legitimate weapons to work with on the outside and the more shots they take, the better chance they have of finding legitimate players.

Dante Pettis is an explosive wide receiver who shows fantastic natural speed and quickness. He is a great route runner who shows natural separation skills and also has the ability to play either on the inside or outside. Pettis is a true deep threat who also has fantastic catch and run abilities. Adding him to the mix along with Gallup would give the Bears two big-time talents to work with at a major position of need.
