Build through the 2018 NFL Draft should be the mantra of the New York Giants, so what are their biggest needs considering their limitations in free agency?

Let’s be honest, the New York Giants can’t really be big time players in the free agent market in 2018. The won’t have enough cap space, especially after factoring in the rookie pool. So, they will have to build the new foundation through the draft. So, new general manager Dave Gettlemen has his hands full.

Gettlemen will be hearing a lot of things from the fans and media until Roger Goodell puts the Giants on the clock on April 26. So far, the one prevailing thought is that the Giants “must” take a quarterback with their No. 2 overall pick.

Frankly, the Giants aren’t limited in their options to just a quarterback, and that’s despite it being a need, and the talent in the top two quarterbacks available. The Giants are assured they have their pick between Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold (the consensus top two quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft), because they are picking second.

The Giants will have to hit a home run in this draft. So, let the building begin as they embark on a journey toward Lomardi Trophy No. 5.
