One of the Chicago Bears’ needs this offseason is at cornerback. Even if they re-sign Kyle Fuller, there is still a need on the other side and depth.

The offseason is in full swing now. The NFL Combine passed and now the focus is on free agency. The league year (and free agency) starts on March 12th at 4 PM Eastern. The Chicago Bears expect to be one of the busiest teams.

The Bears are already busy. They’ve made some cuts like Pernell McPhee and Jerrell Freeman. They currently have 46 players on the roster and more cuts (like Mike Glennon) occurring when the new year begins.

There are some big decisions on the desk of general manager Ryan Pace and his front office. There are many holes that need to be filled. Some of them are wide receiver, offensive line, linebacker, and edge rusher. Another big area of concern is at cornerback.

The Bears had Kyle Fuller and Prince Amukamara. Both had pretty good seasons. Also, both are slated to be free agents. The difference in the two situations is that the Bears could slap the franchise tag on Fuller and delay the decision for another year.

Have the two done enough to warrant new contracts? Amukamara had a solid, not spectacular, season. If the Bears re-sign him, it won’t break the bank. The decision on Fuller is more complicated.

Fuller’s had an up-and-down career so far. He’s shown flashes of how good he can be, but only in stretches. He had a 2016 season in which he went in for a simple knee scope and ended up missing the entire season. Coaches and fans alike criticized him for not playing even though the medical team cleared him to play and some of his other teammates at corner dropped.

Does a good 2017 season overcome the sub-par play he had earlier? Also, does Amukamara come back? If not, here are some options at corner the Bears should consider:
