Kansas City Chiefs: Post-Combine 7-round 2018 mock draft
After cutting Derrick Johnson this offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs are going to need to add some new bodies at inside linebacker this offseason. In this mock draft, they snag an interesting linebacker prospect in the sixth round.
Christian Sam is an extremely athletic linebacker who shows great natural instincts at the position. He is a rangy player who particularly stands out in pass coverage. Sam would provide depth and upside at linebacker and could be an immediate contributor on special teams.
His lack of size will likely limit his draft stock, but Zaycoven Henderson is an interesting defensive lineman who could make an impact in Kansas City. Henderson showcases an impressive first step and has some power at the point of attack.
He is a high motor player who could provide depth for the Chiefs in specific situations. Not a ton of upside here, but Henderson is a good solid player who may help fill a position of need.
With a nice combination of quickness and power, Roc Thomas is my favorite late-round running back prospect in this draft class. He has impressive athleticism and change-of-direction ability that makes him a true weapon in open space.
Despite a relative lack of size, Thomas is also a strong player who can put his head down and pick up a couple of extra yards. He was not used in the passing attack much in college, but he shows the skills necessary to be a weapon in that area if given the opportunity.

Thomas had a nice career at Jacksonville State, but he is a former Auburn signee who was a well thought of prospect coming out of college. Thomas has an exciting skill set that could make him a big late-round steal. If he can grow as a pass protector, I could see the Chiefs using him as a replacement for Charcandrick West.
