3. L.P. Ladouceur — Long Snapper

Now is the time to talk about a player who is 36 years old and is only on a field a handful of times per game, but L.P. Ladouceur is an unsung player on the roster who does his job and does it pretty well without much fanfare or failure.

Last season in the final year of his contract, the 36-year old long snapper made $1.1 million for his job, and at that rate, there just might be more than one team other than the Cowboys interested in having one of the top long snappers in the league on their roster.

Ladouceur has played for the Cowboys since his rookie season of 2005, and in those 13 seasons he’s seen the ups and downs, but he’s also seen many players come and go, too. The Cowboys have one of the better special teams trios with Dan Bailey as kicker, Chris Jones as punter and Ladouceur as the long snapper.

If the Cowboys sign Ladouceur to a two-year deal, that will make him 38 at the end of that contract, but in those two seasons the Cowboys most likely won’t have to give a second thought about their long snaps, and that would make the coaching staff have one less thing to worry about.
