Jacksonville Jaguars: Post-Combine 7-round 2018 mock draft
By Larry Brake
The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to add depth to the offense in the 2018 NFL Draft, which they do in this post-Combine seven-round mock draft.
Since Dave Caldwell was named general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013, drafting from within the top five was routine. They have accumulated some good players as a result. Jacksonville has drafted 39 players and 20 were still on the roster in 2017.
In 2013, Caldwell’s first draft, Luke Joeckel was the Jaguars first pick at number two overall. Joeckel did not become the franchise’s left tackle and is currently a free agent after one year in Seattle. Cam Robinson, drafted in the second round last year, has stepped into the role brilliantly.
Caldwell hit his stride with four good number one picks. He drafted Blake Bortles in 2014 and Dante Fowler was selected the following draft. Most of all, Caldwell hit homers with Jalen Ramsey in 2016 and Leonard Fournette last season. Can he continue his good picks streak?
Many are wondering who the Jaguars will select in the first round, especially after making the AFC Championship Game. The defense is loaded because of free agent signings and good draft picks. It’s highly doubtful that Jacksonville selects a defensive player in the first round.
Allen Robinson is Jacksonville’s No. 1 receiver and will continue be if they can re-sign him after not placing the franchise tag on him. Assuming that Robinson is in Jacksonville for the 2018 season, here is a mock draft for the Jaguars.
