Round 2: Connor Williams,O T, Texas

Connor Williams is the future right tackle for Jacksonville. Williams is leaving college as a junior to play in the NFL. He is six foot five inches tall weighing 296 pounds. At the NFL combine, he ran a 5.05 second 40 yard dash.

Since there is time for Williams to mature, Parnell can teach him how to prepare and work as a pro. Zierlein also reports on Williams via an unnamed executive:

"“I heard all about how good he was last year and then I turned on the tape and what I saw wasn’t a first-rounder at all. I can go back to 2016, but who is he now? I have to know who he is and who he’s going to be in three to five years….” — NFL team personnel executive"

He started and played in five games and missed seven games due to injury. He was the left tackle in the Texas offense. In 2017, Texas changed head coaches. Williams was in a new offensive scheme and under a new offensive coordinator. Perhaps that is why his tape was different in 2017.

As a rookie, Williams would be the flex tackle in the Jaguars offense. He would be versatile enough to play on the left or right side. However, in the long term, Williams should be projected to be the right tackle opposite of Robinson on the left.

Now Jacksonville will give Bortles more offensive targets.
