Round 4: Quinton Flowers, RB/WR, South Florida

Quinton Flowers is a talented player. He played quarterback in college, but will be more effective as a running back or wide receiver. Think of Flowers as a better Denard Robinson.

Zierlein gives his overview of Flowers per NFL.com:

"Flowers simply doesn’t show the consistency or accuracy needed as a passer to play that position in the NFL. While college quarterbacks have made the transition to wide receiver in the NFL, Flowers’ fortunes are likely to be at running back thanks to his sturdy build and running talent. He has the foot quickness to elude tacklers, adequate speed and good finishing power…"

At South Florida, Flowers threw for 8,124 yards with 71 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. He rushed the ball 598 times for 3,672 yards and 41 touchdowns. Flowers was a very productive player in college.

Jacksonville could utilize him in the offense and in special teams. He would be bigger than Jaydon Mickens as a slot receiver and punt returner. At five foot ten inches tall weighing 214 pounds, Flowers would be a bigger Corey Grant as a running back and kick off returner.

Flowers is a good pick since Allen Robinson probably plays 2018 in Jacksonville. The Jaguars have one draft pick left to go. Let’s see who they select.
