1. Dontari Poe

The Kansas City Chiefs let Dontari Poe go last offseason, only to see him lose weight and become a key contributor on a tough Atlanta Falcons defensive line. Now that his stock is rising, Poe will be testing the free agent market this month looking to land a lucrative deal. While he may not be the first choice at nose-tackle for Bolts fans, I believe he could help from day-one.

We’ve already spoken about the Chargers inability to stop opposing offenses from running the football all over them in 2017, which means the Bolts’ front-office needs to decide whether Brandon Mebane is the team’s best option moving forward.

Again, if you’re asking me, the answer for Los Angeles should be a resounding no.

For the Chargers to take that “next step” and make the AFC Playoffs, they have to control both lines of scrimmage. While Los Angeles will be in position to draft a a young nose-tackle in the 2018 NFL Draft, adding Poe would solve their problems earlier than expected.

At only 27 years old, Poe still has a lot to offer in his football career. If the Bolts do decide to open their checkbooks for this experienced defensive tackle, Poe will make sure their money doesn’t go to waste.
