To this point in this mock draft, the Houston Texans have already added three interesting offensive line prospects. However, they have multiple needs across their o-line and should attack the need with multiple players who can contribute. With their early sixth-round selection, the Texans snag powerful offensive guard Skyler Phillips.

Phillips is incredible at the point of attack, showing a ton of natural power as a run blocker. He is not the most fleet of foot, but Phillips shows the ability to dominate opposing players with his power. He is a rock-solid offensive guard prospect who would have a chance to come in and make an immediate impact for the Texans, especially in the run game.

With their first of two sixth-round compensatory picks, the Texans find an interesting tight end prospect to add to the mix. Houston has some decent talent to work with at the tight end position, but they could certainly use another player to add to the mix.

Jordan Akins is a fast and athletic tight end who shows the ability to stretch the middle of the field. He can make plays deep in the passing game and also shows the ability to create a bit after the catch. His upside as a receiver is obvious, but Akins also shows some raw ability as an inline blocker.

A strong tight end is a young quarterback’s best friend, and Akins would have a chance to be a real weapon for Watson in the passing game.
