Highlighting some under-the-radar targets for the Kansas City Chiefs in the upcoming NFL free agency period.
The new league year has not even begun and the Kansas City Chiefs have already had an interesting offseason. As soon as the league year begins, they will officially trade quarterback Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins and cornerback Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams. The Chiefs have also already released veteran linebacker Derrick Johnson and expect to make a few other cuts of expensive veteran players soon.
Simply put, the Chiefs are going to look much different next season on both sides of the ball. The Patrick Mahomes era has officially begun as the team now looks to build around their young and exciting quarterback. Mahomes is not the most polished player under center, but he has a ridiculous natural skill set that makes the Arrowhead faithful giddy. If Mahomes reaches his upside, the Chiefs are going to be serious contenders in the near future.
That being said, they need to build a strong roster around him. Obviously, landing impact talent in the 2018 NFL Draft will be important, but in this post, we are going to focus on free agency.

I would not expect them to be seriously involved with any big names on the open market, but the Chiefs could certainly find some underrated impact players on the open market.
In those post, we are going to pinpoint those undervalued talents who would fit their roster well. Without further ado, here are five underrated free agent targets for the Kansas City Chiefs.
