Key free agents – Giants

There are only three free agents worth spending precious cap space on with the Giants. Weston Richburg, Justin Pugh and Orleans Darkwa. Darkwa came on late in 2017 and showed some potential. Pugh was the best offensive lineman on the Giants, and the Giants don’t have enough money to target a free agent center. So, they will have to re-sign Richburg and target one in the draft.

Key Free Agents – Outside

The Giants are transitioning to a 3-4 defense. So, they will have to target some players to play the edge. They will have to aim cheap Pernell McPhee and Dee Ford could be cheap options for the Giants to consider. They will have to go cheap at running back too, if they want to opt not to draft one. Isaiah Crowell and Rex Burhead come to mind.

Let’s face the elephant in the room, though. Everyone wants the Giants to target one player in free agency to help fix the major problem, the offensive line. So, let’s say it. The Giants and their fans want one guy to come to MetLife Stadium to don the blue jersey, and he is current Panters guard Andrew Norwell.
