Primary Target – Andrew Norwell

It must be the worst kept secret in NFL Free Agency, even Kirk Cousins can keep the lid on where he truly wants to go. The Giants want Andrew Norwell. In a WFAN interview, as reported by Dan Benton of Giants Wire, Gettleman believes you use free agency to set up the NFL Draft.

"The whole purpose of free agency is to set up your draft. You never go into a draft saying ‘I gotta have a,’ whatever that ‘a’ is. You don’t want to be in that spot because now you’re shopping hungry."

According to Tony Pauline, the deal for Norwell is basically a “done deal.” That said, he still has to be the main target for the Giants, just in case Norwell wants to jump ship and change his mind. It would not ease Giants fans if he ended up wearing green in 2018.

They have a lot of holes to fill, and they can’t start building toward adding a fifth Lombardi trophy if they make sure to hit on Norwell. If they don’t, they may have to use the no. 2 overall pick on an offensive lineman, and most fans would love to see Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold don blue next season.
