Last offseason, Los Angeles Rams’ general manager Les Snead was active in free agency as well as the trading market. He inked players such as wide receiver Robert Woods, outside linebacker Connor Barwin and cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman. Snead also dealt for wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who has already received a mention in this piece. The club is hoping to retain his services.

But perhaps this two best moves came in regards to the offensive line. The Rams’ executive brought in left tackle Andrew Whitworth and center John Sullivan from the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins, respectively. Their impact was immediate as the team finished fourth in the NFL in total offense, including eighth in the league in rushing. It is also worth noting that Los Angeles surrendered a whopping 49 sacks, Rams’ quarterbacks were dumped just 28 times.

However, while Whitworth signed a three-year deal with Sean McVay’s club, the soon-to-be 33-year old center inked a one-year contract in 2017 and is set to become an unrestricted free agent. So could the Rams look back to the Redskins and add the likes of versatile Spencer Long? He was limited to seven games this past season but made a successful conversion to the pivot after beginning his career at guard. But as CBS Sports Jason La Canfora reported on Tuesday, the New York Jets had interest in Long as well.
