Offensive tackle stands out as an obvious need for the New England Patriots on the offensive side of the ball. If they lose Nate Solder in free agency, this will go from a moderate need to a desperate one. No matter what happens on the open market, the Pats should be looking for offensive tackle value in the 2018 NFL Draft.

In the pick acquired from the Cleveland Browns in the recent Danny Shelton trade, the Patriots snag some offensive tackle depth in the form of NC State’s Will Richardson.

Richardson has had his fair share of off-field issues, but if he can keep his nose clean, he is going to have a productive NFL career. Richardson is a strong offensive lineman who shows great power at the point of attack. He also moves well for an offensive lineman.

Richardson shows great ability both as a run blocker and pass protector. He would be a strong depth addition to the Patriots’ offensive line and could provide some serious long-term upside.

The New England Patriots are likely to lose running back Dion Lewis in free agency this offseason. James White is the only productive running back currently on the roster, making the position an obvious need.

Chase Edmonds is an extremely quick and agile player who shows impressive patience and ball carrier vision. He is a true three-down back who shows the ability to make an impact both as a runner and a receiver. Expecting too much out of a sixth-round running back would be foolish, but Edmonds is a talented player who could undoubtedly come in and make an impact.
