Chicago Bears: Ryan Pace retains talent, also adds to roster
While many liked the moves Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace made to add to the roster, he’s also doing a good job at retaining talent.
Well, the NFL free agency frenzy is in full force. The signings (unofficial of course) are coming in fast and furious. The Chicago Bears are among the busiest teams trying to rebuild their rosters.
General manager Ryan Pace added wide receivers Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel, tight end Trey Burton, and kicker Cody Parkey. He did a good job of adding weapons for Mitch Trubisky and adding points to the offense.
While Pace should be applauded for making those moves, he’s also retaining key players. You can’t replace all the players, so keeping some of their own players is great for the Bears.
Pace isn’t finished, however. He did more additions to the roster. He needed to have a great offseason and so far, so good. There were many holes on this team and Pace is filling them in. The time is now for the Bears to take a step forward and become at least playoff contenders if not an actual playoff team. Pace is putting smiles on the faces of fans who’ve not smiled for close to a decade.
