Improve the secondary with a free-agent and second-round pick

Jason McCourty and Brien Boddy-Calhoun aren’t bad, but there’s a reason why the Browns have been actively shopping for cornerbacks, like Vontae Davis. When you have to deal with A.J. Green and the immensely talented Steelers corps lead by Antonio Brown, you can never have enough corners. Yes, they traded for Damarious Randall, but they need more.

One guy that fits from the who can end up falling to them in the second round or even later is Texas cornerback Holton Hill. Hill is long athletic corner who has some character concerns but his play and size to warrant a Day 2 pick. At 6-3, 200 pounds, Hill ran a 4.49-seconds at the NFL Combine.

His time speed checked the box of his play speed and athleticism that showed on tape. As a matter of fact, his height doesn’t hinder him against quicker wide receivers, asks Oklahoma State’s James Washington, who was held to just four catches and 32 yards. Hilton plays with aggression, he hits and tackles like a safety, which makes him versatile and an ideal fit for Gregg Williams defense.
