Small Forward- Bud Dupree

Bud actually may be a better fit at power forward, but for the sake of strategy and building this team, he slides into the three spot. Bud, like our other two players on the roster thus far, indeed has basketball experience, and fits nice as a small forward at 6’4″ and 269 lbs. Dupree’s AAU teammate Za’Darius Smith, who also played college football with Dupree, would agree that he deserves a spot on this squad.

"“Bud was a great basketball player,” Smith said while answering a question during SEC Media Day. “He was a great power forward, could really use his body in the paint like a Julius Randle. He had good footwork.”"

It’s also worthy to mention Dupree lead his team to a state championship his senior year. Basing this argument from his state championship ring and word from former teammates, Dupree should be a serviceable fit into the Steelers line-up. His athleticism fits that required of a small forward, and can be a “three and d” player if need be.

With no video of Dupree bringing his inner Kevin Durant out, here’s to hoping he can link up with some of his former Kentucky friends that might be in the NBA. A few training sessions with Anthony Davis or John Wall should help turn Bud into Air-Bud before we know it.
