On top of having two picks in the actual sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders currently hold four sixth-round compensatory picks. While it would not be wise to count on guys selected this late to be major contributors, the Raiders can take a ton of shots on players who can make a difference. Even if only one or two of these late-round picks hit, it would be a win.

With their first sixth-round compensatory selection, the Raiders select Alabama cornerback Tony Brown. Brown is a tough and physical defender who shines in run support from the cornerback position. His coverage skills are lacking and will have to improve in order for him to actually play cornerback at the next level. However, Brown is a gifted special teams player who could make an immediate impact.

Brown is unlikely to ever become a major defensive contributor, but he is likely to be an absolute special teams demon. NFL teams who value special teams are typically more successful than those who don’t. Considering their abundance of picks, Brown is a nice under-the-radar prospect who would make sense for the Raiders late in the draft.

Will Richardson has off-field concerns that will make him a risk for any team that drafts him in the 2018 NFL Draft. That being said, he is a talented right tackle prospect who shows great power at the point of attack and nice footwork on the outside.

Richardson is a strong run blocker who has some nice pass protection upside. If he can keep his nose clean off-the-field, he will likely be a major contributor at the next level. Taking Richardson here and Madison earlier in the sixth, the Oakland Raiders hope that they can solve their issues at right tackle with a late-round selection.
