Tony Adams is the second member of the Wolfpack to be in this mock. The Bears did a great job of surrounding Trubisky with great weapons. They went from having a wide receiver need to having the ability to pick one up as added depth. Now the team needs to give the young quarterback some protection so he can throw to his new toys.

Adams is a good pick here. He’s not flashy, but he gets the job done. One of the Wolfpacks’ strengths was their offensive line, and Adams was its leader. Adams has great feet. He played tennis until he reached the age of 15 and that developed his good footwork. Also, he wrestled so that helped him use his hands and feet together.

The Bears let Josh Sitton go, but if they have a chance of picking up a similar player only younger, they should pull the trigger. Many scouts have Sitton as a comparison for Adams.

Also, Adams can play center. The Bears have Hroniss Grasu slated to start at center. However, he seems to be a project that just isn’t working. He played in only 14 games in his three seasons in Chicago. Cody Whitehair played well replacing Grasu, so if Adams can step in at guard that really helps the line. On the other hand, Adams can be a replacement at center and have Whitehair finally stay at his natural position.

The concern with Adams is his height. He measures in at 6-2, 322 pounds. While his height isn’t the best, his lower body strength is excellent. His legs are like tree trunks. In the new Bears offense, the coaches utilize zone blocking on the offensive line. That means the offense needs more athletic lineman rather than big, burly ones. With his good footwork, he can pull quickly and he should do fine.
