Alright, now this would be an ideal scenario. After making multiple aggressive moves already this offseason, the Los Angeles Rams have set themselves up for a lot of success next season. However, after parting ways with Robert Quinn, they could certainly stand to add an impact edge rusher or two to the mix. In the first round of this mock draft, Boston College’s Harold Landry falls to the Rams at the 23rd overall pick and they rush to the podium to make the selection.

More from Los Angeles Rams

The 2018 NFL Draft class is not exactly loaded with elite pass rushers from the edge. If you want to get an impact edge rusher in this draft, you better target one early. Bradley Chubb stands out as the star of the position, but Landry is the clear number two.

He shows ridiculous burst off of the snap, consistently gaining an edge on opposing blockers. Landry is also an explosive athlete who showcases an impressive combination of speed and power on the edge. He does lack ideal height on the edge, but Landry more than makes up for it with impressive arm length. His flexibility to bend around the edge with ease is also awfully impressive.

Landry is a talented pass rusher who should be able to come in and immediately put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. His strength and arm length also gives him the ability to set the edge well which adds to his value up front as a run defender.

Simply put, Landry is an extremely talented player at arguably the Rams’ biggest position of need. It would be a bit of a surprise to see him actually available at number 23 on draft day, but if he is, this is an easy selection for the Rams franchise.
