Philadelphia Eagles: 7-Round 2018 mock draft after first wave of free agency
At this moment, the Eagles backfield is loaded with young, capable contributors behind Jay Ajayi. However, that doesn’t mean they’re simply going to stand pat and assume that they’ve got the best bunch of running backs possible heading into 2018.
As a result, I’m expecting them to add at least one late-round running back to the mix during the 2018 NFL Draft. This incoming class is loaded with talented runners, which should make it easy to land a potential steal on Day 3. One of players I’m interested in keeping tabs on is Kalen Ballage of Arizona State.
The former Sun Devil is famous for his eight-touchdown game against Texas Tech back in 2016. Although he hasn’t enjoyed nearly as much production outside of that game, Ballage is still an intriguing weapon the Eagles would surely find a use for.
Ballage’s calling card is his versatility, as he’s more than capable of hurting defenses on the ground or through the air. With great speed, reliable hands and a knack for creating chunk plays, he seems like the perfect fit for a Philadelphia offense that can’t have enough dual-threat running backs on the depth chart.
