This Philadelphia secondary is made up of big-time playmakers who feast on opponents’ mistakes. While the starting safeties are set, the Eagles could be looking to add more ballhawks to the depth chart during the 2018 NFL Draft.

Jeremy Reaves could be exactly what the doctor ordered. What the South Alabama product lacks in size and strength, he makes up for in desire, hard work and competitiveness. He isn’t going to blow you away with measurables, but he’s put together the tape necessary to earn a long, hard look at the next level.

During his time at South Alabama, Reaves forced a whopping 17 turnovers. Put simply, the kid has a nose for the football. Not all of the technique and footwork are there yet, but he has the physical tools to develop into a quality safety — or maybe a slot cornerback. He played all over the secondary in college, which could offer valuable versatility if the Eagles were to scoop him up.

I won’t say that Reaves can be a starter someday, because that may not be true. However, based on what he showed during his college career, I see a backup role accompanied by significant snaps as a very attainable goal for him.

If Reaves is still available at the end of the sixth round, Philadelphia needs to call his name.
