Adding Bryan as an interior rusher would certainly help the Lions’ issues up front, but they could still use some depth across the unit. With their third-round selection in this mock draft, the Lions find some defensive end depth and upside by selecting USC’s Rasheem Green.

Green is a long and athletic defensive end shows great quickness and impressive power at the point of attack. He uses his length extremely well, giving himself enough room to make plays both against the run and as a pass rusher.

The USC product is an extremely raw athlete who is inconsistent and plays out of control more often than not. Green’s upside is obvious and he could play an important role for the Lions at a major position of need. However, he needs to become more consistent in order to reach his true upside.

After going for defensive line upside on back-to-back picks, it is back to the offensive side of the ball for the Detroit Lions in the fourth round. Detroit moved on from tight end Eric Ebron this offseason, and will now go forward with Luke Willson and Michael Roberts at the position.

However, in the fourth round of this mock draft, the Lions take a chance on Ian Thomas, an exciting tight end prospect from Indiana.

Thomas is an extremely athletic tight end who shows the ability to stretch the middle of the field. He can make plays deep and is also a real weapon for his quarterback in the red zone. Thomas is not an elite blocker at the tight end position, but he has really grown in that area in recent years.

There is a lot to like about Thomas’ game. He is an athletically gifted tight end who has a ton of upside at the next level and could be a real weapon for Matthew Stafford in the passing game.
