Round 4: B.J. Hill, DT, North Carolina State

B.J. Hill is projected to move into a starting position in next season. He will learn the position from veterans Marcell Dareus and Malik Jackson. Both Dareus and Jackson are approaching 30 years old and cost more against the salary cap.

Hill stands 6-4, weighing 315 pounds. At North Carolina State, Hill recorded 183 total tackles with eight sacks. WalterFootball.com reports this concerning Hill’s abilities:

"Hill was part of a talented defensive line for the Wolfpack, and all four of their 2017 starters are future NFL contributors. Hill is a tough run defender at the point of attack who is tough to move and reliable to fill his gap. The senior recorded 57 tackles with 5.5 for a loss, three sacks and three passes batted in 2017."

Jacksonville struggled defensively against the run, last season. They were in the bottom half of the NFL statistically. Hill should help improve Jacksonville’s run defense with his physicality.

Hill ran a 4.99-second 40-yard dash at the Combine. His speed and quickness off the ball will definitely help at the point of attack. NFL.com highlights Hill’s attributes:

"Hill came to Raleigh as a former high school defensive end and running back, but is now a mammoth 315-pound tackle that holds his ground up front while showing off light feet as if he was still carrying the ball on offense."

Here’s who Jacksonville may select next.
