2. Tim Settle, Virginia Tech: 6-3, 335 pounds

You can get a big boulder block and put it in the middle of the line. That’s Tim Settle, except for the fact that Settle has good quickness and agility for a man with his mass. He anticipates the snap and gets in quickly. Also, he has an incredible engine for someone his size. He keeps going after you and just wears you down. He owns athleticism and quickness that players 60 pounds lighter would love to have.

Hard to imagine, but Settle was even bigger in his freshman season. He red-shirted that year. The coaching staff challenged him to slim down and work on his conditioning and he did just that (per DraftWire):

"I stepped it up, conditioning-wise. I knew that I was gonna be playing more than 40, more than 50 plays a game. [My coaches told me], “You gotta nail this down and make sure you’re conditioned because you’re going to be playing damn near the whole game”, so that was my main thing."

In 2017, he won second-team All ACC honors recording 36 tackles (12.5 for loss) and four sacks.

The crazy thing about Settle is that once he gets on a professional weight training program, he’ll get even better. He can be quicker and more athletic.

If the Bears want to push Goldman before they decide on whether to offer him another contract, Settle is the guy. He has the skills to be a starter immediately and to have a very good NFL career.
