The New York Giants could be in win-now mode, and if they are, they should take Bradley Chubb in the 2018 NFL Draft to solidify the pass rush.

In 2007, the New York Giants won the Super Bowl. They followed up that win with a second one four years later. Eli Manning led a heroic game-winning drive in both games, but the fact of the matter is that the defense carried them to the Super Bowl victory. If the Giants want to get back to the Super Bowl, they will likely have to do it on the backs of their defense once again, and also add some offensive pieces to help Manning.

North Carolina State’s Bradley Chubb could be their guy in the 2018 NFL Draft, especially considering he’s the best edge rusher available and that they have the No. 2 overall pick. The Giants are switching to a 3-4 defense, and that would mean Chubb would have to go from 4-3 defensive end to 3-4 edge rusher. That said, he has the skills to do so.

In fact, given his skill set, he’s capable of doing both at the NFL level. However, at 269 pounds, he’s probably better off standing up.

The first thing you notice when watching Chubb is his relentless motor. He will never give up on a play. The second things that stands out is his ability in the run game. He can limit the yards by opposing running backs by either setting the edge against the tackle or chasing down running backs that get by the line.

Of course, the third thing is getting to the quarterback. He has a strong base, and can use strength to beat the tackle. Chubb can also use a variety of move, and is good at hand fighting too.

All in all, Chubb is more than just a pass rush specialist. That’s why he’s on the radar of the Giants and should be considered strongly at No. 2. Chubb has the talent and ability to give the Giants what Michael Strahan did. His tenacity will be infectious in the Giants locker room. So, he’s a must for the Giants, if they have him high on their board.
