The New York Jets positioned themselves to get what they believe to be a franchise quarterback by trading up to No. 3 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The New York Jets won Super Bowl III following the 1968 season, and became the first AFL team to win the Super Bowl over the NFL. Since the end of the Joe Namath era, the Jets have been looking for the next guy to carry them to a Lombardi Trophy.

They’ve passed on guys like Dan Marino and Tom Brady. However, despite fans beliefs, we don’t know how those careers would’ve turned out if they had graced East Rutherford, NJ more than twice per season (except in the instances where the Jets met the Dolphins and Patriots in the playoffs).

The trade with the Colts has position the Jets to land one of the top four quarterbacks believed to be franchise type guys in the 2018 NFL Draft. Since they only got to No. 3 overall, the question remains as to whom they are actually targeting.

Are they targeting multiple guys, and since they are No. 3, basically guaranteed to get the one they want? Who will land there? Well, let’s find out who the Jets get.
